Landy Gamble, RPh | Owner, Pharmacist, Compounding Specialist
Landy Gamble, locally raised in Newberry, is an Owner and Pharmacist in Charge at Landy's Pharmacy. Upon receiving her Bachelor's of Science degree in Biology from the College of Charleston in 1994, Landy continued her stay in the low country to earn a Bachelor's in Pharmacy from the Medical University of South Carolina in 1997. After 10 years in the Charleston area, Landy relocated to Northeast Columbia.
Prior to opening her own pharmacy, she worked for Eckerd managing individual pharmacies and then as a district manager in the Columbia area. More recently, you may remember Landy from Publix Pharmacy in Northeast Columbia where she was Pharmacy Manager for over 12 years. Landy's love for serving others inspired her to open her own pharmacy where she could perfect just that!
A member of the Professional Compounding Centers of America, she has completed specialty certifications in Hormone Replacement Therapy and Veterinary Compounding. Landy is married to Patrick Gamble, Co-Owner of Landy's Pharmacy, and resides nearby in Northeast Columbia with their two children, Garrett and Rivi, and Scottish Terrier, Gus.
Theresa Tomblin, PharmD | Pharmacist, Compounding Specialist
Theresa Tomblin relocated to Columbia by way of Ohio 20 years ago. In 2003, she completed her Doctorate of Pharmacy degree from the University of South Carolina. She worked locally for many years at a corporate retail pharmacy, and then joined Landy's Pharmacy in 2018.
Theresa has since completed her specialty training in the art of pharmaceutical compounding with the Professional Compounding Centers of America. With a love for pets, Theresa is eager to serve both her human patients as well as "Fursons" by offering unique solutions through compounding. Theresa is married with two children and a Pomeranian, Coconut. In her free time, she enjoys reading, exercising, and traveling.
Charles Smith, RPh | Pharmacist, Compounding Specialist
Charles Smith graduated from the University of South Carolina Pharmacy School in 1971. He began work at Liggett Compounding Pharmacy in 1972, and became the sole owner in 1996. He joined Professional Compounding Centers of America in 1986 and has had over 600 hours of certified continuing education in compounding and pharmacy practice, with special emphasis on hospice compounding, herbal medication, and nutrition. He is a member of the International Academy of Compounding Pharmacists, the South Carolina Pharmaceutical Association, and the Fifth District Pharmacy Association.
Charles has attended pain symposiums in St. Louis, MO, Houston, TX, and Atlanta, GA, where he leaned about innovative treatments for pain and the nutritional aspects of pain management.
Charles worked as a consultant pharmacist for Kershaw County Community Medical Clinic for many years. He served as a hospice volunteer and met with both Tri-County Hospice and Kershaw Health Hospice as the pharmacist consultant member of their interdisciplinary teams. Working with local physicians and veterinarians to solve medication problems and improve patient outcomes through compounding is his passion!
Charles has been married to Alleene Smith since 1977 and has two children, Caroline, 31, and James, 29.
Amanda Upchurch | Pharmacy Technician
Native to South Carolina, Amanda was born in the lowcounty and relocated to the midlands in 2002. It is here that she met Landy Gamble and began a career as a Pharmacy Technician where the two have worked together since. Amanda is married to Allen Upchurch. Together they have four daughters and six grandchildren. In her free time, she supports our local Fireflies, loves beach trips and enjoys motorcycle riding through the Blue Ridge Parkway.
Kyara Rodriguez | Certified Pharmacy Technician
Kyara Rodriguez has been a pharmacy technician since 2014. Originally from Gainesville, Florida, she previously worked as a pharmacy technician at UF Health Hospital where she studied and specialized in both sterile and non sterile compounding. In early 2018 Kyara became a Nationally certified pharmacy technician by passing the Pharmacy Technician Certification Exam.
Kyara and her fiancé, Colin Smith , a recent graduate from the University of Florida with a B.S. in mechanical engineering, recently relocated to South Carolina to pursue new career opportunities.
Kyara has two cats and a dog, Apollo, Luna, and Minerva. She loves to bake and craft in her free time. Her favorite sweets to bake are cupcakes and cookies.
Kyara enjoys how each compound is catered to be unique, just like every patient. She is very grateful to be a part of our team where she gets to share her skills and help make a difference.
